Our Story

Founded in 2002 by Ashur Barkho, A&S Welding & Electrical began with a simple goal: to provide honest advice, reliable service and practical support for local trades, workshops and businesses.

With years of hands-on experience across welding, plumbing and electrical work, Ashur started by taking on repair jobs and helping customers find the right equipment for their needs. What began as occasional repairs soon grew into a full-service workshop and supply business, operated alongside his wife, Shemiran.

From the beginning, A&S was built around personal service. Customers were not treated like numbers. They received direct advice, practical solutions and support from people who understood the gear, not just the catalogue.

Built on Service and Experience

For more than two decades, A&S Welding & Electrical has supported customers with welding machine repairs, electrical equipment repairs, equipment hire, spare parts, consumables and welding supplies.

Over the years, we have worked with thousands of machines, supplied a wide range of welding and electrical products, and helped trades, workshops and businesses keep their equipment running.

That experience remains at the centre of what we do today.

Moving Forward

As customer needs changed, so did we.

In 2022, we began modernising the business to make our products and support easier to access. We reorganised our Smithfield workshop, improved our systems and launched A&S Online to bring our range of welding and electrical supplies to more customers across Australia and beyond.

But while the way customers shop has changed, our approach has stayed the same: practical advice, reliable service and support you can trust.
