Refund policy

At A&S Welding, we want customers to order with confidence. If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for your machine, torch, gas type, fitting, application or setup, please contact us before ordering and we will do our best to help check compatibility.

This policy applies to change-of-mind returns. It does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, not as described, or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee.

90-Day Change-of-Mind Returns

We accept change-of-mind returns within 90 days of you receiving your order, provided the item is:

  • unused;
  • unopened;
  • in its original packaging;
  • complete with all parts, manuals, accessories and supplied items;
  • in resellable condition; and
  • accompanied by proof of purchase.

Original shipping costs are not refundable for change-of-mind returns. Return shipping costs are also the customer’s responsibility and will be deducted from the refund where we provide the return shipping label.

Compatibility Help, Exchanges and Replacements

If you ordered the wrong item or need help finding a more suitable product, please contact us. We are happy to help troubleshoot compatibility and assist with selecting the correct replacement where possible.

The fastest way to exchange an item is usually to return the original item once approved, then place a separate order for the correct item. In some cases, we may be able to assist with a replacement instead.

How to Start a Return

The easiest way to request a return is through your online customer account.

Alternatively, you can email us at office@aandswelding.com.au with:

  • your order number;
  • the item you wish to return;
  • the reason for the return; and
  • photos, if relevant.

Please wait for our confirmation before sending anything back. Items sent back without first requesting a return may not be accepted.

Customers may also return approved items in-store during business hours.

Return Shipping Labels

For approved returns, we can provide a return shipping label. The cost of the return shipping label will be deducted from your refund unless the return is covered under Australian Consumer Law, warranty, or another approved arrangement.

We will assume the item is being returned in the same packaging it was originally sent in. If you are using different packaging, please advise us before we create the label and provide the new package:

  • length;
  • width;
  • height; and
  • weight.

This helps us create the correct return label and avoid carrier issues or extra charges.

The return label will be emailed to you. Depending on the carrier/service, this may be supplied as:

  • a printable label, which you can print at home; or
  • a QR code, which can be scanned and printed at the post office.

If the parcel fits and the label is suitable, it may be lodged in a street posting box. Otherwise, it should be lodged at a post office or approved carrier drop-off location.

Inspection and Refunds

Once your returned item is received, we will inspect it to confirm it meets the return conditions.

If approved, we will issue the refund to the original payment method used for the purchase. Please allow time for your bank, card provider or payment provider to process the refund.

For change-of-mind returns:

  • original shipping charges are not refundable;
  • return shipping costs will be deducted from the refund if we supplied the label; and
  • the item must be unused, unopened, in original packaging and in resellable condition.

If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved and you have not received your refund, please contact us at office@aandswelding.com.au.

Damaged, Incorrect or Faulty Items

Please inspect your order when it arrives and contact us as soon as possible if:

  • the item is damaged;
  • the item is defective or faulty;
  • you received the wrong item;
  • something is missing from your order; or
  • the item is not as described.

Please email office@aandswelding.com.au with your order number, a description of the issue and photos where relevant.

We will review the issue and guide you through the next steps. Depending on the situation, this may involve troubleshooting, replacement, repair, refund, return shipping instructions, warranty assessment or another remedy available under Australian Consumer Law.

Items Not Eligible for Change-of-Mind Return

Some items are not eligible for change-of-mind return, including:

  • special-order or non-stock items marked as special order on the product page;
  • hazardous materials;
  • flammable liquids;
  • gases and gas cylinders;
  • aerosols;
  • chemicals;
  • cut-to-length items;
  • custom-made or custom-assembled items;
  • opened consumables where contamination, safety or resale is affected;
  • used, installed or fitted electrical/electronic items;
  • used or opened PPE where hygiene or safety is affected; and
  • items not in original packaging or not in resellable condition.

This does not exclude or limit any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law, warranty or consumer guarantees. If there is an issue with your item, please contact us and we will help guide you through the correct process.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You may be entitled to a replacement, repair, refund or other remedy if a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
