Details
The Bulgin Multi Purpose Cutting Torch range is designed for professional manual oxy-fuel cutting in fabrication, industrial maintenance and material processing. All three configurations feature heavy-duty 3-tube construction and compatibility with Type 41 and Type 44 cutting nozzles, allowing the torch to be configured for the fuel gas and cutting application.
Key features
- Heavy-duty multi-purpose torch for controlled manual oxy-fuel cutting.
- Robust 3-tube construction across all configurations.
- Choice of a 528 mm torch with a 90° head, or extended-reach 1000 mm torches with a 90° or 180° head.
- Compatible with Type 41 and Type 44 cutting nozzles.
- Suitable for oxy-acetylene or oxy-LPG cutting when fitted with the appropriate compatible nozzle.
- Compatible with Bulgin Type 44 Scrapper Nozzles for oxy-LPG applications.
- Suitable for fabrication, maintenance, scrap processing and site work.
Choose your configuration
| Part number | Overall length | Head angle | Configuration |
|---|---|---|---|
| 555-00047 | 528 mm | 90° | A practical balance of reach, control and manoeuvrability for general-purpose manual cutting. |
| 555-00048 | 1000 mm | 90° | Extended reach with a conventional angled head for larger workpieces and industrial cutting. |
| 652-00001 | 1000 mm | 180° | Extended reach with a straight head for direct, in-line access to the cutting area. |
528 mm with 90° head - 555-00047
The 528 mm torch combines useful reach with control and manoeuvrability. Its conventional 90° cutting head suits general fabrication, plate cutting and maintenance work. Compared with the 1000 mm versions, the shorter body is more compact and easier to manoeuvre where a full-length extended-reach torch is unnecessary. This configuration provides a general-purpose cutting platform for professional workshops, fabrication facilities and industrial sites.
1000 mm with 90° head - 555-00048
This extended-reach configuration retains the familiar angled cutting-head orientation for controlled manual cutting. Its 1000 mm body provides greater reach than a conventional hand cutting torch while the 90° head gives a conventional approach to the workpiece. It suits general fabrication, plate cutting and maintenance, as well as large workpieces, heavy fabrication and scrap processing where additional reach is useful.
1000 mm with 180° straight head - 652-00001
The straight head places the cutting nozzle in line with the torch body for direct access to the workpiece. Combined with the 1000 mm length, this configuration suits specialised cutting tasks where a conventional 90° head does not provide the desired approach angle or reach. It supports extended-reach and straight-access cutting in demanding industrial applications.
Extended-reach design
Both 1000 mm models provide increased separation between the operator and the cutting zone. The additional length is useful when working on large components, heavy fabrication and scrap, or where greater separation from heat, sparks and the cutting area is desirable. Head angle is the difference between the two long configurations: choose the approach that suits access to the workpiece.
Type 41 and Type 44 nozzle compatibility
All three torches accept compatible Type 41 and Type 44 cutting nozzles. Selecting the appropriate nozzle allows the torch to be configured for different oxy-fuel cutting requirements. Match the nozzle to the fuel gas, material thickness and required cutting performance. For heavy-duty oxy-LPG cutting, the compatible Bulgin Type 44 Scrapper Nozzle range provides an application-specific option.
Fuel gas options
- Acetylene: use an appropriate compatible Type 41 cutting nozzle specified for oxy-acetylene service.
- LPG: use an appropriate compatible Type 44 cutting nozzle specified for oxy-LPG service, including the Bulgin Type 44 Scrapper Nozzle range.
This provides a versatile torch platform, but the cutting nozzle must be correctly matched to the gas being used. The referenced Type 44 Scrapper Nozzles are for oxy-LPG applications.
Typical applications
- General steel cutting and structural steel fabrication.
- Plate and section cutting.
- Workshop and heavy fabrication.
- Industrial maintenance and repair.
- Scrap and material processing.
- Construction, site work and engineering applications.
- Extended-reach cutting with the 1000 mm models.
- Straight-access cutting with the 1000 mm, 180° model.
- Heavy engineering with the extended-reach models.
